Cachoeira do Rio Preto

Description

Cachoeira do Rio Preto is one of the most visited trails in the Vale do Capão due to its proximity to the village and ease of access. The waterfall is formed by a four-meter drop, with granite blocks overturned by nature and a huge natural pool of black water extending over 50 meters. The dark color of the water is striking, creating a beautiful contrast with the white foam cascading down from the waterfall. The trail is part of the vast network of paths linked to the gold mining period, preserving some remnants of the mining era along its route. Additionally, the vegetation enchants visitors with the presence of cacti, orchids, and bromeliads. Photos: Vicente Leal E. Fernandez.
