Cachoeira do Segredo

Description

The trail is approximately 7 km (round trip) and leads to one of the most impressive waterfalls in Chapada dos Veadeiros, with a height of about 100 meters. The route crosses preserved areas of cerrado and takes visitors to a secluded valley, where the waterfall cascades down a rocky cliff, forming a deep pool of dark, cold water. The surrounding environment is more enclosed and humid, contrasting with the rest of the trail, and enhances the scenic and isolated character of the waterfall.

Route

The trail begins on relatively flat terrain, progressing through cerrado areas until reaching sections with a slight slope toward the valley. Along the route, there are crossings of small watercourses and passages through wetter areas. In the final part, the hiker faces a more technical section, descending among stone blocks and uneven ground, requiring heightened attention. This segment leads directly to the pool and the base of the waterfall, where the environment becomes more enclosed and humid.
