Cachoeira do Tabuleiro - Por Cima

Description

Located in the Parque Natural Municipal do Tabuleiro, in the Parque Estadual da Serra Geral do Intendente, and in the district of Tabuleiro, about 18 km from downtown Conceição do Mato Dentro, it is the tallest waterfall in Minas Gerais and the third tallest in Brazil. It has a 273 m free fall – the equivalent of a 91-story building, in front of a multicolored rock wall of great beauty. The high drop forms a large pool about 20 m deep, surrounded by boulders, some of them even submerged. The waterfall is in the Serra do Cipó region, south of the Serra do Espinhaço. The whole landscape of the Cachoeira do Tabuleiro, with the falls set amid the heart-shaped mountains, is stunningly beautiful!
