Cachoeira Simão Correia

Description

Simão Correia is one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in Chapada dos Veadeiros. With its 115 meters of free fall, the waterfall was recently incorporated into the National Park and has been gaining more and more space in the region's tourist itineraries. Its waters are cold and greenish, contrasting with its enormous wall displaying various colors in the background. The trail passes through different landscapes, from more open areas with typical Cerrado vegetation to stretches of denser, shaded forest along the river. The trail can also be partially traversed on horseback, offered by local residents for access to the trail. The pool of the waterfall receives sunlight until approximately 3 PM, so it is recommended that visits be made early. During the rainy season, the attraction may be closed due to the river's volume.
