The Walk of Faith is a route that devoted pilgrims of Santo Antônio take every year (for 9 years), starting from the Church of Santo Antonio in Oriximiná (PA) and arriving at the Church of Sant'Ana in Óbidos (PA). The walk takes place at the end of July for the feast of the patroness of Óbidos. The reverse route is undertaken by the pilgrims from Óbidos at the end of the second half of August for the feast of the patron of Oriximiná. The distance is 75 km, with an overnight stop for rest.

A trilha Caminhada de Fé foi percorrida por nós de 18/7 a 20/7/2024, totalizando os 75km entre as cidades de Oriximiná até Óbidos; foram momentos inesquecíveis de provações e resistência física e moral para cumprimento dos propósitos eleitos nessa caminhada. Em breve já estaremos nos preparando para repetir essa inesquecível oportunidade de testar nossos limites.

Route

The Walk of Faith gathers around 100 to 150 people at Santo Antônio Square in Oriximiná, setting off at 10 p.m. towards the PA-349 highway. The first 15 km of the journey is on asphalt, with a stop at the city airport junction at 11 p.m. for the first hydration break, where participants have coffee with milk and a light snack. The pilgrims then continue in smaller groups toward the entrance of the Jatuarana trail. Around 1 a.m., there is a quick stop for rehydration. The walk then transitions onto a dirt road through the reforestation area of Jatuarana until reaching the Chapel of Santo Antônio in the Santo Antônio Community at km 9, arriving by 4 a.m. At 4:30 a.m., the walk resumes with a 600-meter stretch from the Santo Antônio Community to Jatuarana Waterfall, continuing towards Dona Angela’s farm at km 33 for breakfast around 8 a.m. At 2 p.m., there is a stop for lunch at km 42. The next 18 km to the overnight stay at Tangão Farm require even more physical and mental endurance, as this section is completed during the afternoon. The final 15 km stretch begins the following day at 4 a.m., leading to the Matriz de Sant'Ana Church in the city of Óbidos.
