Located in the Vieira neighborhood of Teresópolis, Palmital Rock (1,880m) and CEB 83 (2,020m) are two mountains situated next to each other, sharing the same access trail and are part of the Três Picos State Park. Note: Request permission from the local residents to access the trail. 9 km (round trip)

Route

The trail starts with a long climb up to the mountain saddle (the lowest point between Palmital and CEB 83). Then, at the fork, the trail on the right heads to CEB 83. It continues on a gentle ascent until reaching the rock, from where it goes around it to the right up to a forested gully, through which the path continues, steeper, up the mountain. At a certain point in this gully, there is a rope to help you get through the section. Shortly after, the steepest section ends and the path continues to the left until reaching the summit, which is wide and mostly rock. Sign the summit register and enjoy the spectacular view from the top. Return to the mountain saddle and take the trail farthest to the right, toward Palmital. After climbing CEB 83, the climb to the summit of Palmital is at a "mountain pace", slow and steady. At the summit there are no rocks, but rather vegetation and a beautiful view.
