Description

Located just over 3 km from the village of São Jorge, the Raizama Ecological Sanctuary is a circuit that offers various attractions. Visitors can swim in the river, enjoy a viewpoint of the famous Raizama Falls, the waterfall that cascades into the canyon, and, if lucky, encounter local wildlife.

Route

The first stop in the trail is at a creek in a canyon in which the visitor can swim. Up ahead, there's a vista to Salto do Raizama, spot where the São Jorge River dives deeper into the canyon in a beautiful waterfall. Later, natural pools with small falls can be found. This is a circular trail, which means you get back to where you started with no need to walk through the same path.
