Serra dos Cavalos
Description
Serra dos Cavalos is a mountain with an altitude of 1,430 meters, located in the municipality of Teresópolis-RJ. Notable for its imposing ridge, it is highly sought after by mountaineering enthusiasts. Access is via the Santa Cecília neighborhood, with the option to traverse starting from the Jardim Meudon neighborhood. The trailhead is located at Rua Padre Feijó, 266, approximately two kilometers from the highest point, which can be reached in about an hour. Upon reaching the summit, one can enjoy a view of the mountain range of Serra dos Órgãos, the forest of the Três Picos State Park, crossed by the Rio-Bahia Road, as well as a panoramic view of the Alto and Comary neighborhoods, the main tourist areas of the municipality. On the other side, it is also possible to observe the Várzea neighborhoods.
