Trecho 20 - Parque Lage x Parque da Catacumba

4.7

Description

This is the only section of the Trilha Transcarioca that is entirely in an urban environment, connecting Parque Lage and the Catacumba Municipal Natural Park. On a 3.6 km route that runs alongside Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, one of the city's most beautiful postcards, hikers have the opportunity to observe the mangroves that have been partially restored along the shores of the lagoon and, with luck, may encounter groups of capybaras that inhabit the area. It is an easy section, perfect for a family walk. With several kiosks, a bike path, and leisure areas available along the way, the lawns by the lagoon are inviting for a picnic. Since it is a short route, a suggestion is to do it in sequence with the previous one or combine it with the next, if you have time and energy. It is also recommended to visit the facilities of both parks to add a touch of culture to the outing. Enjoy the artworks in the gardens of Catacumba Park and visit the School of Visual Arts located in the mansion of Parque Lage.
