Trilha Caliandras

Description

The Caliandras Trail is located near Lake Norte and the Digital Tower. The TV Tower is a symbol of the Central Plateau Paths, a long-distance trail in the Federal District, of which the Caliandras Trail and the Serrinha do Paranoá are a part. The name of the trail refers to the "caliandra" plant, also known as the Cerrado Flower, one of the most beautiful flowers found in the region.

Route

This route starts from the Quiosque de Água de Coco (coconut water kiosk), on the Estrada Parque Península Norte (EPPN), so that you do the climb at the beginning, up to near the Torre Digital, and the descent at the end. This route favors the narrower paths, through well-preserved Cerrado, avoiding the wider road as much as possible. The same route can be used starting from the Torre Digital. Some sections of the trail are shared with the Bomtempo and Pamonhas trails. The beginning of the trail is quite flat, and after 2 km of hiking the trail has more descents, which may call for a walking stick or trekking pole to avoid slipping. After 5 km of hiking, you reach the Córrego do Urubu. The trail continues with several climbs and descents until it returns to the starting point, always passing through varied Cerrado vegetation.
