The flora is the main attraction of this trail, where it is possible to observe large specimens of tree species from the Seasonal Semideciduous Forest, such as the captain-of-the-field, which gives the trail its name, as well as jatobás, copaíbas, and jerivás. The fauna is also present, with sightings of king parakeets and juruviara, as well as howler monkeys and traces of mammals.
