Description

The trail that starts at the Ecological Park of the Dam has historical aspects related to the construction of Brasília. The area of 38 hectares housed Vila Paranoá, established in the 1950s, before the inauguration of Brazil's new capital, by workers coming from other parts of the country for the construction of the Paranoá Dam. Along the trail, it is possible to see remnants of this settlement.

Route

The trail starts at the parking lot of the ecological Park. There are restrooms and a drinking fountain nearby. The route goes through the interior of the park, at times along the walking track and at others along the grass paths, skirting the park toward the exit at the second gate, onto DF-005. Before the exit, there is a lookout with a beautiful view of the Lago and the Mosteiro São Bento. The trail continues past points of historical interest: the dam bridge, a historic building (churrascaria JK), and the view and pools of the Rio São Bartolomeu. On the way back to the Park, it passes the São Geraldo church, another historic building from the days of Vila Paranoá.
