Trilha do Bico do Papagaio - Via Bom Retiro

Description

At Parrot's Beak, the feeling is like being on top of the world. At 987 meters high, you can see from Niterói to Marambaia - the extreme points of the southern part of Rio de Janeiro. Bring a good camera to capture the views of the Tijuca National Park, Pico da Tijuca, Anhanguera, Pedra do Conde, Corcovado, and Pedra da Gávea. The path also holds treasures like the Navio and Parrot Caves. The trail requires not only willingness but also a lot of courage. There is a legend that the formation is haunted. The path, which is 3.4 km long, is considered difficult, with a steep section that demands significant physical effort. There are parts where it is necessary to hold onto rocks and roots firmly. For these reasons, we recommend that the route be taken with experienced guides, who can also lead you to additional excursions, such as the Archer and Cocanha hills.
