Trilha do Morro do Morcego

Route

The Trilha do Morro do Morcego uses Praia do Adão as its reference point, where hikers should head toward the right-hand corner of the beach and continue over the rock blocks to start the route. From this point, the trail runs parallel to the sea, alternating between rocky and vegetated sections, up to a fork, where you must take the left route. After that, continue along the rocky shore until you see the Museu de Arte Contemporânea (MAC) and climb a steep section that requires scrambling, leading to the summit of the Morro do Morcego, at the end of the trail. The descent from the summit of the Morro do Morcego can be done via an alternative path, where visitors should take a route to the left, through herbaceous vegetation, to the fork. Then the route follows the same path as on the way in.
