Trilha Suspensa

Description

The Suspended Trail, located in Teresópolis, in the Serra dos Órgãos National Park, is about 1,300 meters long and is accessed from the end of the Barragem road within the park. Built on an aqueduct from the early 20th century, this trail traverses a section of Atlantic Forest at an elevated level compared to the ground, allowing visitors a closer observation of the tree canopy.

Route

The trail is built on a raised platform with wooden flooring and handrails, 1 to 8 meters above the ground, depending on the section. It offers views of the treetops, a variety of plants, and the rock wall. It is accessible and, if you are lucky, you can spot some of our native animals, such as coatis, capuchin monkeys, and others. Accessing the Trilha Suspensa from the lower end, near the Casa do Pesquisador, you can bathe in the Poço Ceci & Peri, a small but great spot to enjoy the cool waters of the mountains. In the Parque Nacional da Serra dos Órgãos you will find beautiful waterfalls, trails, picnic areas, camping, parking, and much more.
