The Travessão Valley is an attraction in the upper part of the Serra do Cipó and borders the Doce River and the São Francisco River. It is located in the Serra do Cipó National Park and offers a fantastic hike, extending about 18 km and passing through incredible spots such as the Fern Forest, the Mirror Waterfall, Rock Paintings, and the Ofurô Pool, in addition to the fascinating and immense cliffs that line the river valleys, forming a beautiful canyon.

Route

The trail begins at Pousada Duas Pontes, at KM 144 of MG 010, with a flat path at first, becoming more uneven with gentle elevations. You will pass through a gate; since it is easy to open, remember to close it properly. The trail has water supply points, small sections where you walk over stones, and crossings over streams, as well as a walk through the Mata das Samambaiais for about 1 km. Next comes the Cachoeira do Espelho, ideal for a stop to contemplate, rest, and have a snack. Along the way, you will be enchanted by rock paintings and the incredible flora of the Serra do Cipó region. Enjoy the Vale do Travessão, its imposing cliffs, and the stunning landscape.
