Taciateua x Capanema (Trecho 4 | Trilha Amazônia Atlântica)

Description

Section 4 of the Amazon Atlantic Trail begins in the district of Taciateua, in Santa Maria do Pará, and follows old dirt roads. The route also utilizes the historic Belém-Bragança Railway, especially when passing through the cities of Peixe-Boi and Capanema, which marks the end of the section. This route is rich in beautiful landscapes, where former quarries have transformed into large lakes bordered by native vegetation. Other attractions along the way include opportunities for birdwatching and admiring the stunning Pará rivers and streams. Prepare yourself physically for the crossing through Peixe-Boi, as the short stretch along the PA-242 Highway presents challenges due to the terrain conditions. However, the city makes up for these difficulties with a good infrastructure for resupplying, including pharmacies, markets, restaurants, and various other services.
